KAUAI —A final round score of 70 last Saturday helped Brycen Jones finish strong in the John Burns Intercollegiate in Kauai, Hawaii.
The Georgia Southern freshman and former Thomasville High standout fired a final round, 2-under 70 to finish 10-over-par. It was good for a tie for 81st. Jones tallied five birdies, three bogeys and the rest pars.
He was proud of the finish after starting the three-round tournament with a 77 on Thursday and 79 in the second round on Friday.
“It felt really good to put a solid round together and help the team have a strong last day,” Jones said. “I hit the ball well all week, but things fell into place the last day. I’m really thankful we got to make the trip and compete in Hawaii. I am ready to compete in our next tournament.”
Georgia Southern will next compete at The Invitational at The Ford tournament at Ford Field and River Golf Club in Richmond Hill, Georgia, on Feb. 26-27.
