TIFTON — Worksource Georgia, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Labor, will hold a pair of Farm Labor Seminars aimed at providing crucial information and updates related to farm labor. These seminars are designed for agricultural employers, farm labor contractors, and other stakeholders within the agricultural sector.
The first of the two seminars will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at Southern Regional Technical College, 52 Tech Drive in Tifton.
The other will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at North Georgia Career Center, 150 Evelyn C. Neely Drive in Athens.
Topics to be covered include:
— H2A (Temporary Agricultural Workers Program).
— MSPA (Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act).
— OSHA safety regulations and compliance.
— Farm labor certification registrations.
— Georgia's Migrant and Seasonal Farmworker (MSFW) Program.
— OFLC (Office of Foreign Labor Certification) H2A application certification process.
These seminars will provide vital information to ensure compliance with labor regulations, enhance safety protocols on farms, and streamline the process of hiring foreign labor legally. Experts from Worksource Georgia and the U.S. Department of Labor will be available to address questions and provide guidance on best practices in farm labor management.
